What is ALGO?

Algorand was founded in 2017 by Silvio Micali, a renowned MIT professor and Turing Award recipient. It launched its mainnet in 2019 with a primary mission to solve the blockchain trilemma by balancing security, scalability, and decentralization. Unlike many early networks, Algorand was designed from the ground up to support high-speed financial transactions with near-instant finality.

The technical backbone of the network is a unique consensus mechanism called Pure Proof of Stake. This protocol randomly and secretly selects a group of users to propose and vote on blocks, ensuring that even a small amount of ALGO gives you a seat at the table without the need for energy-intensive mining. Because the network does not fork, transactions are finalized the moment a block is added, which provides a massive advantage for institutional use cases.

ALGO serves as the native utility token for the ecosystem. It is used to pay for transaction fees, which are remarkably low, and to participate in the network’s decentralized governance program. The total supply is hard-capped at 10 billion tokens. Over the years, the tokenomics have shifted toward long-term ecosystem support and incentivizing node runners to ensure the network remains robust and distributed.

The ecosystem has grown to include a variety of decentralized finance applications and real-world partnerships. Notably, Algorand has been a platform for various central bank digital currency pilots and has functioned as a blockchain partner for major global sporting events. It is particularly strong in the Real World Asset space, hosting platforms for fractionalized real estate and carbon credit trading.

Looking toward 2026, the roadmap is ambitious. The network is moving toward sub-three-second block times and implementing a peer-to-peer gossip network to improve data propagation. We expect to see a heavy push into institutional adoption as more traditional assets migrate to the chain. The goal is to establish Algorand as a highly efficient, carbon-neutral infrastructure for the future of global finance, providing a seamless bridge between traditional markets and decentralized protocols.

What is RSI?

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a momentum oscillator that measures the speed and magnitude of price changes. Developed by J. Welles Wilder, RSI ranges from 0 to 100 and helps traders identify overbought or oversold conditions in an asset.
